How We Rank Units

Tier placements reflect real performance across Superbox Siege Defense's difficulty ladder: Siege Normal, Hard, Nightmare, and Death Mode. We weigh damage output, crowd control, survivability, mobility, and unlock accessibility. A character that dominates Campaign 0-1 but dies instantly to Parasite boxes in Hard Mode will not earn S-tier. Progression and Tier Investment

New players should not chase S-tier units immediately. Start with the default Telescope or unlock Mech Telescope — the best free-to-play character — then push through Siege Normal and Hard to unlock the Laser Gun and Nightmare Mode. Nightmare clears grant Thunderman and Titan Teslaman, both S-tier. Death Mode unlocks Upgraded Titan Tesla, another top pick for auto-tracking AOE damage.

Team Composition Basics

Superbox Siege Defense supports multiplayer Siege runs where team composition matters. Pair a crowd-control Tesla with a high-damage Telescope or Titan. Thunderman's map-wide stun enables teammates to burst down boss waves during night cycles on Hard and Nightmare. Solo players need self-sufficient units — Mech Telescope for F2P, Upgraded Titan Tesla for endgame — because nobody revives you mid-fight unless you bought the Revival Cannon or Resurrection Ray.

When Rankings Change

Balance patches can shift the meta overnight. A Titan Sawblade buff might move it from C-tier to B-tier for boss-heavy stages. We track patch notes on our updates page and adjust tiers accordingly. If your main character drops a tier, check whether the nerf affects your current game mode or only PvE edge cases in Sandbox Mode.
